Records Division

The Records Division is proud to serve residents and visitors in the Town of Barnstable.  We process over 50,000 calls for service a year.

Due to the large number of requests we ask for your cooperation.
We will do our best to serve you in a timely manner.

PLEASE NOTE: At this time we do not accept any requests for information by email.

OBTAINING MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH REPORTS

You will need to provide your case number (listed on business card usually given by the officer on scene), your name, date and location of accident.  This information will assist us in furnishing your request quicker.

Reports are available in person at the Barnstable Police department during normal business hours for a fee of $5.00.

Alternatively, you may go to GetCrashReports.com to retrieve your crash report
via the internet. There is an additional charge for this convenience.

We are unable to fax accident reports under any circumstances.

You will need to provide your case number (listed on the blue card usually given by the officer on scene), your name, date and location of incident.  This information will assist us in furnishing your request in a timely manner.

Reports are available in person at the Barnstable Police department during normal business hours for a fee of $5.00.
We are unable to fax Incident Reports under any circumstances.

LOST AND FOUND

Lost items can be reported by phone 508.775.5466, or in person at the main desk at the Barnstable Police Department. Found items need to be brought to the Police Department for processing as soon as possible. Our policy states that items not recovered within one (1) year and one (1) day will be sent to auction.
